Spooktober 2024
This is halloween, this is halloween, halloween, halloween. Happy Spooktober everyone! This month Pharmacology turned up the heat as the temperature outside cooled off. We hit the cardiovascular units with a sprint. I am really starting to understand the way I study individually and with others and it really feels great! I feel like I'm finally learning and retaining information in a way that's gonna really help me for medical school. We've had tutoring and mentor sessions with medical students and the dean of admissions and I feel so supported through this program and for my future.
Outside of school, a group of students and I joined the WeMade tutoring program with a local high school. With this program, we plan to tutor students virtually in any subject, homework, applications or essays! This program is exciting to me because I've never tutored previously. As exciting as it was, I was also slightly nervous that maybe what I was planning in my head wouldn't be executed as I wanted. :( So instead of ~panicking~, I mapped out our first sessions and schedules for the rest of their semester. I was able to communicate with the students and parents and we were finally able to set our first session! A few appointments have fallen through, so hopefully you will hear more stories next month!
